About Schmy

Schmy Web Design is actually just one person, but I do have occasional help from friends. Of course my most valuable asset is my wife and her advice. The name Schmy comes from a nickname that developed from my infant son. You know how baby names always seem to develop into nicknames that rhyme and will eventually embarass them when they get older, well that is where the name "Schmy" comes from. He is still too young to be embarrassed.

Anway, my name is Mitch Hertzler and my story is that I have been maintaining a website for a local company since 2002. As most things do, eventually the site became outdated and needed a fresh look. I decided to take some online web design classes and develop a new site for them which led to my enjoyment of creating websites. I am currently one class away from a web technologies certificate from eClasses.org.

Why Schmy?

My goal is to offer clean, attractive and affordable websites to anybody that would like to promote their business, organization, or service. I am not trying to set the internet on fire and steal customers from other competitors as this is something that I enjoy doing in my spare time. It is not my full time job. I know that there may be people out there who would like to have a website but don't know where to start or are not willing to pay thousands of dollars to have it done by a full time web designer.
